Cairde Enterprises are a commercial social enterprise offering former-offenders over the age of 23 a real meaningful work environment including full-time employment and work experience programs

We offer customers high quality, competitively priced products and services as well as an opportunity to make an impact with their spending.

Our goal is to prepare people for progressing into mainstream employment and  to positively help change the attitudes of potential employers and communities towards ex offenders, who want and are trying to turn their lives around.

We trade commercially to change lives.

 

Who we are

We are the trading arm of Palls Ltd. Palls Ltd is an education and training center which provides individual support for purposeful change for people involved with the Probation Service and the criminal justice system.

Cairde Enterprises is an innovative and unique solution in the midwest context because we engage with a hard to reach group for other government and ngo agencies, community groups and education providers.

 

Who we work with

We offer jobs and work experience to people who have experienced prison or probation are turning their lives around but who find it difficult to secure employment.

 

How we work

We provide an action learning environment for participants with a focus on motivation, building trust, decision making  and team working.

Staff and work experience participants  learn many skills including

  • Woodwork skills – measuring, cutting, assembly, furniture upcycling furniture and many more
  • How to work with digital equipment and machinery such as automated saws, CNC machines, laser engraver, paint spraying equipment
  • Working in a 8.30 to 5 environment, health and safety protocols, dealing with customers, digital technology, working with social media
  • Staff receive on going well being supports and get  support in preparing cv’s, applying for jobs, preparing for interviews etc  .

 

 

Our Premises and Facilities

Cairde Enterprises is based in the Docklands Business Park on the Dock Rd in Limerick. The unit has woodwork and metal work areas with individual work stations, a CNC machine, laser engraver, wood turning equipment and it is also equipped with 2 welding booths, spray booth and drying area.
